The American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) names Brian Franklin to its Board of Directors
(Fort Lauderdale, FL) The American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) has named Brian Franklin to the organization’s Board of Directors. Franklin runs Impact Politics – a Florida based political consulting and communications strategy firm that advises federal, state, and county candidate and advocacy campaigns. Previous to his appointment to the board, Franklin served as co-Chair of the AAPC’s Technology Committee and was a former President of its Southern Chapter.
The AAPC is a bi-partisan organization of top political and public affairs professionals, including general consultants, media consultants, pollsters, campaign managers, public affairs executives, professors, fundraisers, lobbyists, congressional staffers and campaign service vendors. Beyond networking and promoting the best practices of the profession, the AAPC also advocates on free-speech issues related to political consulting and advertising. The association’s annual national conference and awards ceremony draws a range of attendees – from those that have led Presidential campaigns to those supporting city commission campaigns. Recent conferences have featured Hall of Fame honorees including David Axelrod, David Plouffe, Karl Rove, James Carville, Paul Begala, and Ed Rollins.
AAPC President Art Hackney said, “Brian epitomizes the new generation of political professionals that have rattled cages, challenged convention, and changed the political campaign landscape for the better.”
Brian Franklin’s recent work includes strategy and communications consulting for Congressman Patrick Murphy (FL), Gary King for Governor (NM), United For Care (FL Medical Marijuana Statewide), AFCME International, AFSCME CA, the Florida Education Association, and a large international charitable trust. He is a frequent speaker on the intersection of political strategy and technology, and an occasional contributor to Campaigns and Elections magazine.
“I’m tremendously honored to be on the board of the AAPC, and to be working with the top-tier of political consultants on both sides of the aisle. The AAPC’s conferences, and the relationships I’ve built with its members and staff have been crucial to my work – and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help direct its growth,” stated Franklin.
Beyond winning campaigns, Franklin’s work has garnered national Pollie and Reed awards, including Best Overall Internet Candidate Campaign, Best Overall Campaign Use of Negative Contrast, Best Online Targeting, Best Use of Facebook Advertising, Best Use of Search, Best Online Advertising – US House, Best Use of Humor in an Online Ad, and Best Website.
